At the beginning of the 2020 COVID pandemic, MERCURY ERRANDS received a call from a Georgian woman who was on a temporary work project in Big Sky, Montana. Upon arrival, she realized that she had left her laptop charger at home. To make matters worse, the nearest store to buy another was an hour away in Bozeman. The distressed woman hired us to shop for a new charger and to deliver it to her the same day. Thus, our adventure began!
The first two stores MERCURY ERRANDS called did not have the specific charger in stock. The third store was closed for the day due to understaffing. We reached out to the woman to give her the unfortunate progress report. She assured us that delivery the next day would be fine.
Our determined driver kept brainstorming in hopes of finding the charger. While passing the campus of Montana State University – like a flash of lightning – he got the idea to check the campus bookstore for the charger. With students not on campus at that time, he figured there would be less demand for one. His hunch proved to be correct! And – guess what? Our driver bought the very last charger on hand.
By dinner time that same day, our driver delivered a brand new charger to a relieved and grateful customer.
