Errand, delivery, and courier services in the greater Bozeman, Montana area.

In this series of anecdotes, the owner of MERCURY ERRANDS, James, relates to you a few of the experiences that make MERCURY ERRANDS what it is…a business dedicated to serving its customers. Here we go: Enjoy!

Cargo Van

Last year, thanks to the generosity of a former client, MERCURY ERRANDS received ‘a huge tip’ right during the pandemic shutdown. That might not sound too unusual, but keep reading. This may have been the ‘tip of a lifetime.’

A few years ago, MERCURY ERRANDS was hired by a Texas-based fire alarm company involved in a large apartment building construction project in Bozeman. We provided numerous errand services for our client, such as receiving and processing of material shipments, delivery and pickup of materials to the job site, and the transport of leftover materials to a storage unit at the projects’ end. We also did timely pickups and deliveries of such things as building permits and plans. Our client was pleased that we could do all this because it saved him the time and expense of a weekly flight to Bozeman.

So, last summer, our client returned to Bozeman to pick up his old work van that he had left behind in storage. However, he was a bit concerned that the van might not make the trip back to Texas. Surprisingly, he asked if we were willing to take it off his hands. It seemed to be a win-win proposal! MERCURY ERRANDS could either fix it up for a cargo van or sell it for a small profit. We agreed to accept his ‘gift.’

As it turned out, we sold the van to the very first caller for the amount of $1600.00 – in cash! After the expenses for parts, we had a nice profit of $1400. Now, that’s a ‘tip.’

In Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s poem, A Psalm of Life, he writes, “Learn to labor and to wait.” At MERCURY ERRANDS, we bear witness that God loves to surprise those who give freely in their service to life.

Give James a call at 406-600-9925. At MERCURY ERRANDS, we are always happy to labor for you!
