In this series of anecdotes, the owner of MERCURY ERRANDS, James, relates to you a few of the experiences that make MERCURY ERRANDS what it is…a business dedicated to serving its customers. Here we go: Enjoy!

Once upon a time, there was a woman who needed to replace her queen-size Tempurpedic mattress for health reasons. She called MERCURY ERRANDS on the weekend of New Year’s Eve, wanting to know if they knew of anyone who could pick up her old mattress before January 1st. The job would also include securing the new mattress, unboxing it, setting it up, and then hauling away the old mattress. Quite the job on a New Year’s Eve weekend.

MERCURY ERRANDS told her that they would help her on Sunday (a day outside their regular service hours). Surprised, she replied, “I thought you only did errands.”  She was assured that small moving jobs were considered an errand service.

In the spirit of the holidays, she was offered half off of their regular price. And with that half-price offer, she hired MERCURY ERRANDS!

MERCURY ERRANDS traveled to the mattress store’s warehouse several miles away, picked up the new mattress, delivered it to the woman’s home, unboxed it and set it on the bed frame (being very careful not to damage any of the valuable statues and lamps placed around the small bedroom). Job completed successfully!

Oh, but wait! The old queen-size Tempurpedic mattress, you may wonder? What happened to it?

MERCURY ERRANDS called a newlywed couple who they had recently helped to move into a new apartment, asking if the couple would like the mattress. This couple was very excited to receive this offer. It turns out that they had been visualizing a new mattress using a picture from a retail ad. The Tempurpedic mattress was very similar to it. MERCURY ERRANDS delivered the old Tempurpedic mattress to this happy couple. Job completed.

Three trips—two different sets of happy clients—all for one job.
